This charter should be read and understood by ALL Guild Members. If you have any questions or remarks, do not hesitate to contact one of the Guild Masters or Guild Officers. The content of this document is "living" and can therefore change without notice - please review periodically.
HISTORY
Dawn of Damnation (aka DoD) is the oldest raiding guild on Quel'dorei, founded on January 20th, 2007 - only 3 days after the Burning Crusade expansion was released and 12 days after the birth of Quel'dorei. DoD is a guild comprised of serious and dedicated raiders aiming to rapidly clear the available content and remain one of the top raiding guilds on the server.
LEADERSHIP
Our guild leadership structure is formed on three levels: Guild Masters, Guild Officers and Class Leaders. Decisions regarding the guild are made by Council which is represented by the Guild Masters and the Guild Officers. Class Leaders are invited to speak and voice opinions at Council meetings, but have no voting privileges.
Our current Guild Council is:
Guild Masters: Madrigosä, Malikh (aka Mexx) (Former Guild Masters: Revnger, Paraxus)
  Guild Officers: Belrex, Pheinix
RAID SCHEDULE
Our raid schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:30pm to 10:00pm (CST; Quel'dorei Server Time). Raid invites will start at 7:15pm. Members that are unable to participate in a scheduled raid are required to inform us, in advance, by posting to the Raid Absence Forum.
On unsheduled raid nights, Madrigosa will usually host WotLK, BC and/or vanilla WoW raids for members wishing to accomplish older achievements and/or reach exalted status with pre-Cataclysm reputations.
RAID PREPAREDNESS
All members participating in raids are expected to come prepared and remain for the entire duration. Preparation includes having the necessary consumables (flasks, potions, food and/or reagents) and enough to last the duration of the raid. There is no excuse for not being prepared and the RL will at his/her discretion replace you for a member that is prepared. If you can not raid for the entire duration, you are expected to inform the RL prior to accepting an invite to the raid. You will also need to find, in advance, a member that will replace you at the time you need to depart. Minimizing downtime during raids is a high priority and if you fail in providing the RL with notice and/or a replacement - you will lose any DKP earned that night.
Should you need to AFK during raid time (unscheduled), you MUST inform the RL before you go AFK. If you do not inform the RL and/or are AFK for more than FIVE minutes, you will be removed from raid and replaced. All DKP earned is forfeited.
It is mandatory that members have Ventrilo setup and it be operational before raid time, although a microphone is optional unless you are in a role that requires you to announce information over vent (tanking, healing, etc).
RAID PERFORMANCE
All members in raid are expected to perform at (or exceed) 100%. This means, being aware of the environment - do NOT become tunnel visioned and focus all your energies on a single-target (most likely a boss) - avoid void zones, DPS adds as instructed, reposition yourself as the encounter requires. In short, if you continuously die to the same obstacles it means you are not learning and are ultimately hindering the progression of the raid. If the RL (or your Class Leader) feels that you are not performing to your potential, you will be contacted (via whisper) and informed. If you continue to perform poorly, the RL retains the right to replace you with a member s/he feels will perform as expected.
"Cataclysm" brings with it a new level cap, substantial class changes as well as new class abilities. Members will be required to demonstrate their knowledge and skill with their chosen classes (on target dummies) to ensure every member participating in raid is satisfactorily geared and can perform as expected. Members will be judged by their Class Leader and informed of their performance.
LOOT DISTRIBUTION
Loot distribution is covered in our DKP Policy.
ALTERNATE CHARACTERS
All members will be able to select ONE alternate character to raid with on designated nights up to a maximum of 6 alts allowed. Minimum requirement for alts will be level 20. Alternate characters are subject to the same raiding restrictions as your main character (as per above). We will not allow raiding on an alternate character that a member is not proficient with and does not have the proper gear for the proposed raiding content.
GUILD ETIQUETTE
It is expected that ALL DoD members treat each other with respect. We have a zero-tolerance policy for disrespecting other members. If you have an issue with another member, bring it up in a proper fashion with a member of Council or a Class Leader.
We have a zero-tolerance for members that like to create guild drama. Zero.
FLAG SYSTEM
DoD will be implementing a new flag system to protect the guild from members that are not respectful of the Guild, it's members or this Charter. The flag system works in a "three strikes" manner, meaning for every time a member is deemed to have acted dishonorably they will get a flag. Members who receive a flag will be notified by the GM, Guild Officer or their Class Leader and will be expected to rectify and not repeat the action again.
Should a member receive three flags they will be removed from guild. If a member has been issued a flag and has corrected the issue and has not repeated the offence for a satisfactory duration - they can appeal to the Guild Council to have the flag removed.
The following are a few examples of offences that will yield a flag to the member: raid awareness, raid preparation, attendance and general attitude towards fellow members.
SANCTIONS
The GM, Guild Officers and Class Leaders have the right to use their judgment regarding issues not yet covered in the Guild Charter, after which a policy change should be proposed and made clear to the rest of the Guild Members.
UNFORESEEN AMENDMENTS
We recognize that emotions run high and fast at times, however, we endeavour to act in a well thought out manner at all times. In the event that there is an unprecedented situation that requires a policy change, a buffer of one week's time will be given before implementing changes, or reacting to situations. We give all established members (Raid Members and above) one week to let their feelings be known to Council before the motion is declined or accepted. This idea is to be carried out as much as possible within all aspects of the guild.
This one-week buffer directly affects the general membership as well. If you bring an issue to a GM, Guild Officer or Class Leader, you must expect at least one week for him/her to process and deal with whatever issue is at hand. Good solutions requires good thinking, and that takes time. It is hoped that all members will also apply this rule to themselves wherever possible. When considering changes to their character, their allegiances, or any other decision that changes their path, one week's thinking time would be very well spent.
